Peter Donald

After graduating with first class honours in Economics at St Andrew’s University in 1969, Peter Donald began his career in international finance with Glyn, Mills & Co in London. He was seconded to Credit Commercial de France for two years as Eurobond Syndicate Manager in 1972 and in 1976 joined the First National Bank of Chicago where he became Managing Director and Head of Global Securities.

He moved to head up the international new issue department of Hill Samuel in 1986, at the time of the big bang, when they had purchased the stockbroker Wood Mackenzie & Co. He remained with Wood Mackenzie & Co when it was sold to NatWest Securities and became Head of Equity Capital Markets.

He resigned from NatWest Markets at the end of June 1998 following BT Alex Brown’s acquisition of NatWest Securities and joined EC Hambro Rabben & Partners. Peter Donald is well known in the shipping and offshore markets and has been involved with the flotation of many companies and advising on mergers and acquisitions in these sectors.

When he is not playing the Grand Piano or the Hooke Parish Church Organ, Peter is regularly seen walking his dogs and wife around the County of Dorset.
